Apostle Lawrence V. Gray is the Founder and Pastor of Greater New Victory Christian Center church, located in San Diego, California.
Apostle Gray was saved in 1963, licensed to preach in 1967, and ordained as an elder in 1969 by the late Bishop J.A. Blake, Sr. In 1968, Apostle Gray established the first Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Hanau, West Germany under the auspices of the late Bishop S.M. Crouch of Los Angeles, California. In 1982 Apostle Gray was ordained as a Bishop in the United Pentecostal Churches of Deliverance (UPCOD). He conducted crusades in South Africa during the Apartheid era. After establishing churches in Washington, Oklahoma, California, South Africa, and Germany, he accepted the calling as an Apostle in 1998.
Apostle Gray has served as a member of the COGIC Adjutant Corps, and is a licensed National and International Evangelist of the COGIC. He currently serves as a Superintendent, as Finance Chairman, and as the San Diego Area Coordinator in the California 2nd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under General Board Member and Prelate, Bishop George D. McKinney.
Apostle Lawrence V. Gray is the founder and host of “The Hour of Victory” telecast. He is recognized in Who’s Who in the COGIC and Who’s Who in Religion. He received the Mayor’s Proclamation for outstanding humanitarian service to the community, resulting in proclaiming June 22, 2003 as “Apostle Lawrence V. Gray” Day in the City of San Diego.
Apostle Gray is a preacher’s preacher, with a special anointing to build leaders for today and tomorrow. He holds a Doctorate of Divinity, and a B.A. in Biblical Studies. In 2010, Apostle Gray celebrates over 46 years in the ministry, over 40 years as a pastor, and 31 years as pastor of the Greater New Victory Church. We can faithfully say that he is a man of God for this time.
